January, 2009 - The Launching of
Apple Food Systems

Just as Louisville, Kentucky experienced one of the best fireworks demonstration on April 18th, Apple Food Systems generated its own Thunder as well, by finalizing its First Significant Sales Order involving a custom designed border-free, small particulate pizza sauce depositing system.  Sales Director Ed Gill and Engineer Larry Moser traveled to the customer’s site in mid-April to demonstrate Apple’s capabilities utilizing the demo system pictured below.  Our guys put on such an outstanding presentation that they were awarded the order just days later.  Congratulations to Apple Food Systems on securing their first noteworthy sales order, on forming a new relationship within the food industry, and on selling not just an Apple machine, but an Apple “system.”  A round of fireworks seems appropriate for Apple Food Systems this past April... the pace has been set and what a pace!

Apple Food Systems Demo Unit

During the week of February 8th, Apple Food Systems continued to flourish as the new Sales Director and two engineers flew to Hull, England, UK for a week long training session by the staff of Apple International at their facility. Training for both the sales and engineering staff was extensive, and undeterred by a major snowstorm that fell on Hull during their stay. The U.S. contingent was also able to preview the Depositor System which will be shipped and featured at our Indiana plant  very shortly. Our team came back loaded with knowledge and documentation.

Sales is already in the process of sending out product sheets to potential customers, as well as, in preparing our first quote to a U.S. based company in California concerning the filling of yogurt cups. Engineering is currently updating our CAD system with the new machinery drawings, developing material lists, and establishing partnerships with our various suppliers regarding our new material requisitions.

Process Expo provided the newest developments in food processing technology to meet the challenges faced by the industry’s food and beverage manufacturers.  The expo drew buyers representing every market segment of the food industry from the U.S. and more than 75 countries; and this year Apple Food System manned Booth #6937  in the Upper South Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center.   Apple Food Systems presented to the North, Central, and South American Food, Bakery and Confectionery Industries established products directly tested and proven throughout the rest of the world.

Apple Food Systems, launched in January 2009, is the joint venture of Apple International Ltd. of Hull, England and pāco manufacturing® of Clarksville, Indiana, USA.  For over 20 years, Apple International has been designing, developing and manufacturing fully automated systems and turnkey operations for the food industry in the UK, the Philippines, Sweden, Germany, Asia and the United States.   Through this partnership,  Apple International will expand its manufacturing operations to the Continent of the Americas (North, Central & South America) as it teams up with over 55 years of  manufacturing and technical expertise, quality and service provided by pāco manufacturing®.

Recent accomplishments in the U.S. include a new self-clearing head design  of Apple’s for a borderless pizza system.   According to Sales Director, Ed Gill, Apple Food Systems provides accurate deposits with little or no edge contamination to ensure proper sealing.

Managing Directory Glen Morris recapped by saying that, although Apple Food Systems is a newly formed partnership, “It brings a proven technology to the Americas which the rest of the world has known and trusted for many years.”  The unveiling of Apple Food Systems at the 2009 Process Expo in Las Vegas is an opportunity for Apple to demonstrate their eagerness and expertise in bringing solutions to the challenges faced by today’s food manufacturers.  PRINT News Release Copy

Apple Food Systems  made their inaugural public debut to the Food Industry during this year’s PROCESS EXPO,  held October 5th-7th, 2009 in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.

Apple Food Systems recently designed and installed new self-clearing heads on a six across depositing (filler) system which will produce 240 flatbreads per minute.  Food Industry manufacturers who produce flat breads or pizza will appreciate the need for a tight and accurate weight deposit which is configured in a specific and totally designable pattern.  The new head design provides an even coverage of sauces,

including those with particulate matter such as onions and tomatoes, with each and every deposit.  The new design provides the customer with something that the market is in need of, but until now, something which there had not been a viable solution for.

We are going to become the Krylon™ of the depositing market, that is, as Johnny Bench used to say…’no drips, no runs, no errors.’

Ed Gill, Sales Director

The new six across depositing (filler) system utilizes around ten square feet of factory space, offering the customer a great deal of options to make use of the remaining space for other applications.  Apple Food Systems has the ability to build this same system for pizza’s of any size, round, square or rectangle.  According to Sales Director, Ed Gill, Apple Food Systems is currently manufacturing demo samples of the nozzles in several sizes and shapes to show potential customers at the customers’ site using the demonstrator MR900  stand alone depositor.  “Although the demo unit is configured as a single lane, the mechanics and function are the same,” says Gill, “so that multiple lanes can be accommodated through several applications depending only on the customer’s needs and existing conveyor systems.”

The depositing system provides accurate deposits for customers requiring very tight tolerances, and with a minimization of waste, enables a swift ROI.  The system design also provides for precise deposits with little to no edge contamination to ensure proper sealing.  Apple Food Systems is pleased to bring solutions such as the new self-clearing head design to the market which exceed the value of the customer’s needs.  PRINT News Release Copy
